Miri is continued from Nightcrest District: A Night on the Town: darknessbitesrp.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=district&thread=31&page=5#398The first thing Miri realized was the light out- she always woke up before it got light. The second thing was the fact she wasn't in the orphanage. Then it came back- escaping with Shoku, Shoku kissing her, the Rave, dancing - her she felt a small blush - then being thrown and the silver wolf. She sat up, trying to look around for him, but clutched her head which made her back yell a loud complaint. Ouch. Right... It slowly came back to her how she got out here and where she was - or thought she was. She stumbled and teetered dangerously as she tried to make her way to the hole where the wolf had burst out, desperately looking for her friend. She made it only just out of the broken building the Rave had been in, and down the street about one building over before she turned into the alley. She was going down and she knew it- best to be out of sight. The darkness that had been dancing at the edges of her vision grew and over came her a few moments later. She saw a bloody jacket in a ball on the ground next to her, and vaguely remembered grabbing it on the way out. She must've tried to stop the bleeding. Or someone else did because she didn't recall- not that that was a surprise given her state. She should look for Shoku, and felt a wave of despair when she realized she didn't know where to look and she probably wouldn't get far anyways. Then Miri felt anger at herself for passing out. For being so weak and pathetic. She also felt concern- her friend was missing after all, and she didn't even know where to start looking. "well....There is always the forest.." She mumbled to herself, trying to think. She bit her lip absentmindely, and her eyes were narrowed at the jacked, as if she would find the answer there.

Shoku slowly opened his eyes. There was a faint smell of vodka on his breath. Since when the hell did he start drinking? He raised his hand above his head to block the sun's bright, harsh golden rays. Trying to get a hold of his surroundings, Shoku glanced around. plenty of trees. Trees and clouds, but no floor, no ground, no dirt. "What the-" Shoku started, before feeling himself free fall after trying to move. Moments later he crashed to the ground. He groaned in pain and rolled over onto his back. In his view was a large oak tree, though how he managed to get up there still remained a mystery.
Shoku sat up and looked down, viewing his attire. The werewolf's clothes were badly ripped and torn, hardly covering any of his body. He jumped to his feet and brushed the dirt off of himself. He knew there was a full moon last night, he could remember that much. But what else? He put his hand on the tree and the entire night blurred through his mind. Escaping the orphanage, kissing Miri, going to the rave, drinking, dancing with Miri, hunger, kissing Miri the strange new werewolf he smelled in town. Each thought of the full moon that passed by in his mind was shortly accommodated by a flash of the blue haired girl. He had become so intimate with her that night. Then the nightmarish parts of the night flashed through his head. The turning, the vampires, the fighting. Eden. "What the hell did I do?" Shoku asked, angry at himself for allowing him to do something so stupid. He was the alpha, he should've been able to control his full moon tendencies better but when he was with her, his thoughts were clouded by more than irresponsible anger.
After changing his clothes he made a sprint for the town. He could smell her blood, blood that he himself had drawn. Once reaching the outskirts of town he ran up the side of a building, grabbing the side of it and quickly swinging himself over. Without stopping he followed her scent, jumping from one building to the other, regardless of distance, he didn't care if he was seen. His blue eyes showed concern. For both him and Miri. After flipping off the side of a building he landed directly behind her. Thoughts of being with her in the rave flashed through his mind again, though instead of lust he felt regret once more. What he did shouldn't have happened. "Are you alright?" Shoku said solemnly, void of affection.

Miri saw a shadow projected onto one alley wall from the sunlight for half a second befroe she heard a voice. She jumped at the unexpected but oh-so-familiarity of said voice. It was one she had come to know and take comfort in the last few days, no matter how harsh or flippiant his demeaner towards her was.
"Shoku!" She automatically tried to turn around to see him, but only succeeded in wrenching her back and ripping part of a scab which must have formed over the scrapes on her back. A breath hissed quietly through her teeth but she ignored it and pulled herself standing up to look at him better.
"You're ok," She breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm..." She didn't know how to finish that sentance. She was alive and in one piece - a banged up piece - and she knew he was ok, so she was well enough. So she said as much. "Bit banged up, almost had a heart attack. Slightly disoriented. Overall not too bad." She grinned a little, ignoring the bit of blood making its way slowly down her back from where she reopened her cuts. "What about you? What happened?" She asked, her eyes showing concern for him.

Shoku blinked twice, confusion overcoming him. She was concerned for him? Was the one shot that she had taken destroyed her senses that much? He planned to have to threaten her to keep her mouth shut about what happened last night, but it seemed she couldn't even remember it much herself. He wanted to tell her he had somewhere to be, but the smell of blood stopped him. whatever happened to her, was caused because he couldn't control himself in the full moon. He had to atleast fix her up somewhat before disappearing from her life. The werewolf lifted Miri up off her feet and into his arms, being careful not to touch any of the wounds on her back.
He lifted her into the club, which was still abandoned and would be for another day or so if he knew the pack well enough. He sat her on a bar stool and leaned over her, reaching for a clean looking bar rag. He jumped over the counter and crouched down searching through the shelves for some type of tape which he found in a matter of moments.
Swinging back around he put his hand on her back with the now damp bar rag. He pressed it against the wounds gently but firmly, soon after using the duct tape he had found to tape it to her back. When his hands touched her smooth skin memories of the previous night flashed through his heads and he quickly backed away from her, not able to make eye contact.

He was so careful with Miri, touching her lightly as if he was afraid he would hurt her- well, he had, hadn't he? There was a wolf, but he had been the one to throw her. But why? It didn't make sense. She pushed the thought away, aware of how she was completely at his mercy right now. But she could feel waves of emotions that seemed to radiate from him, most of them didn't feel very uplifting. She looked up at the focused face of Shoku; there was a tightness around his eyes, and he seemed a bit distant. Miri's mouth gathered at the side, wondering what he was beating himself up over.
Inside the bar, she sat obediently on the seat he had gently set her on. He acted like she was so fragile. "I'm not hurt that badly..." She said, looking at the ground then lifting her eyes back to his form which was leaning over her in search of something. "It's just a few bruises and cuts. I've had worse." It was true- granted it hadn't been simulatenously...but he didn't need to know that.
He hopped over the counter and disappeared on the other side, then he reappeared a moment later. He swung her around so my back was to him, and then proceeded to tape some fabric over the cuts. Good thing I'm used to getting myself into trouble and being clumbsy learning to ropes of sneaking out, she thought- it had taught her to suck up pain and deal with it. After all- the higher up's of the orphanage would wonder how she had gotten so injured otherwise.
His warm hands, somehow firm yet soft, touched and hesitated slightly on Miri before he backed away. Miri saw how he was beating himself up- she could almost hear him berrating himself mentally, although she couldn't quite tell over what. But she knew it had to do with her; it was obvious in the way he refused to meet her eyes.
She set her jaw and her eyes flashed- she wasn't having this. She pushed herself off the stool, ignoring her back. She closed the distance between them and put her hand under his chin, making him meet her eyes. "Shoku- whatever you're beating yourself up over- I'm fine. I admit I'm not entirely sure what the hell happened last night, but guessing from your moping about, you had something to do with my injuries. Which, I might add, aren't even that bad. And here you are anyways- helping me out which you don't have to do. So as far as I'm concerned, you are in the clear." She cocked an eyebrow at him, daring him to try to argue. But her challenge was balanced out by a reassuring smile.

OOC: Sorry for the short post, Teen wolf is about to be on
Shoku looked at her when she put her hand under his chin and moved his head. He snatched his head away and glared at her, whatever desire he had for her obviously gone. "Somethings you just don't get while you're human, Miri." Shoku said. To explain what he meant he put his hand in front of her and waited for her reaction as his hand grew into a silver haired claw. "I'm a werewolf."

OOC: its ok o.o but i thought you said it was on at 11? its only 10...
Miri pretended his glare didn't phase her. But she was distracted a moment later when her eyes grew wide, and a smile appeared on her face. "so I'm not crazy after all. That makes the blurry images from last night make more sense." she muttered half to herself. Her head cocked slightly to the side, looking at his claw. "that is way cool. And I have a million questions. Question one- are you going to kill me now that I know?" She said this quietly, realizing he could have very easily killed her by now. She was luckier then she thought- she refused to think meeting a werewolf was unlucky, no matter what happened.
She stared at his hand waiting for his answer. She blinked a few times- while this answer made sense in theory from last night, logically it didn't seem legit. Sometimes you just have to poke things to see if they're real or if you've finally reached the point you should go stand in the admissions line for the loony bin. So thats exactly what she did- she poked the claw infront of her. The silver hair was rough, but not unpleasantly so. She resisted the urge to pet it.

Shoku's eyes narrowed, not believing what he was hearing come from the girls mouth. "Are you insane?!" shoku yelled at her. What person in their right mind were excited about the sight of a werewolf. Even when he was still human, or atleast technically human, he hated them. He wanted to kill them and if he could've gone back in time he was sure that eight times out of ten he would've made it so he had killed the alpha and set it's rotting corpse on fire and watch the flames consume it.
'I'm not going to kill you. But let me make a few things clear to you. What happened last night meant nothing. It could've been any girl, hell it should've been any girl but you, but you were the lucky one to be around during the full moon. Secondly this is not a game, not some movie where the werewolf is all nice and friendly and being one is some big chance at being a hero. If you ever tell anyone about me I will make you regret it, even in the afterlife. Lastly, you'd be smart to stay away from me. I don't do well around those who can't hold their own." Shoku said calmly, trying to put it through the dark haired girl's head that she needed to put herself far away from the underworld as possible.

Miri's smile left her face, and she listened to what he said with an intense focus. Finally she felt like he was being on the straight with her- one of the first times since they met. "Insane? Perhaps. But last night....I don't even know." She shook her head and moved onto the other points he made. "This would be one hell of a game," her eyebrow arched at the thought. "And I know- werewolves aren't friendly, not by nature anyways, once they lose control." Last night flashed through her mind, as did everything she ever learned about a wolf- the pack is to be protected. That was first. Anyone not pack could be a threat, and was treated as such. And typically it wasn't a friendly treatment. "As a person though, you aren't bad." She finished. "And I have no one to tell, no reason to- who would believe me anyways? Besides, why would I want to? Some secrets are best left as that. And its your secret to tell." She looked solemnly at him, not a trace of teasing or lightheartedness to be found. "I swear I won't tell anyone. I'm not religious, and I don't have much, but I'll swear on anything you want- I'll say nothing of you to anyone."

"Well then, seeing as how you seem to understand your place, I think I'll be going now. Have a good life." Shoku said, slowly walking away. Though the memories of last night still haunted him and probably would for a great deal of time, he had no true feelings for her and couldn't have her around any longer. Not to mention, Shoku thought, that had I not been forced to get her away from the hunters, I wouldn't have been caged inside the prison they called an orphanage for those several days anyway.

Miri was speechless for a moment before somewhat quietly calling out "Wait." The wheels in her head were turning. "So, you come into my life, make it more interesting, kiss me, show me a small hint of a whole other world stacked right up against the boring mundane one, and then you're going to leave? Is that about right?" She knew he was going to leave eventually, and probably never turn back, but what she hadn't predicted was the events of the last 24 hours.
She thought for a moment. "I mean, obviously you can't take me with you, and I wouldn't wish anyone who had a choice a stay at the lovely 5 star hotel worthy orphanage," that last part was sarcastic. "Tell me though- will I ever see you again?" Miri hated how clingy, desperate and lost-puppy she sounded, but it wasn't because of last night she was asking this- no, it was because he was a cool, if not somewhat mopey, kid. Oh and not to mention the whole able to change thing was pretty beast. haha...beast...wow I'm cool. Miri thought, mentally rolling her eyes at how lame she sounded. She thanked god werewolves couldn't read minds.

"Will you ever see me again hmm well," Shoku started, having a light and hopeful tone in his voice, "not if I can help it." He finished darkly. I don't even like having to baby sit my own pack, but it's my responsibility. I don't need some human trying to play damsel in distress in the underworld with me being her guardian. Go back to the orphanage, go live your normal life, and most importantly. Leave me out of it."
Shoku wasn't a nice person, but there was an extra layer of harshness in his words, due to the fact he was convincing himself that he really never wanted to see last night again, that he never wanted to kiss her one last time. What did he need that for? this wasn't some love story. This was the real world and he had more important things to worry about. Like Eden, and more importantly this new wolf he needed to find.

Miri ground her teeth together and felt her eyebrow twitch slightly- an automatic reaction she had developed when she was being yelled at, beat up on or harshly treated. It meant she was either pissed off and trying to control her temper or was trying not to cry. "Damsel in distress?" She said, her eyebrow arched high and her teeth clenched. "I'm no cheesecakeing damsel. And, for the record, the orphanage is kicking me on the street soon. A few weeks." Miri stopped for a moment. What was the date? Her birthday had to be coming up soon. She did the math mentally. "Less than a month." less than a month... She shook her head- she could think of that later.
"My life hasn't been normal since my parents vanished. I've been alone without a good friend since then. And then the one I do find, decides to go run off and be a freakin wolf and leave me behind. Well cheesecake that- I don't need you as a guardian, and I don't need you as a person." She knew it wasn't true, and she knew it was cruel, but she hoped her words hurt him, at least a little. "And one more thing- you will see me again if I can help it. You won't have to worry about me getting hurt because I won't be your responsibility. Oh and before you go and drop my like some hook-up whore the morning after...." She clenched her jaw and raised her eyes to meet his one last time, hating herself for needing to say this- because she really felt she had to. "I don't blame you at all. And when we meet, if we meet, I'm not going to ignore you and I won't hold any of it against you." She held his gaze a moment longer, then lowered hers to the ground.

Shoku chuckled darkly and left the rave, leaving Miri by herself, and scaling a wall so she wouldn't follow him. He didn't even feel the need to respond to her. She was trying to live out some fantasy romance novel, and he wasn't going to bother with it any longer.

OOC: fantasy romance novel?? wtf? >_>
Miri watched him go. The time she spent sitting there went by unmarked. Her eyes stung and her jaw ached. Eventually she got up and went to the bathroom, and was mildly surprised to see clean streaks down her face where tears had passed. She splashed some water on her face, ignoring her back as she bent over the sink. She was mad at him, just leaving her like that. She stood up and punched the mirror, and enjoyed the satisfying sound it produced as it shattered and fell away from the wall. How dare he? She reached back and tried to rip off the rag over her cuts, but he had taped it on very well, as if he had predicted she would try. Maybe he had. She gave up, and instead shot a glare at the shattered mirror.
She watched the light shif, how it glittered on the broken glass. Eventually the shadows from the light through the small bathroom windows became long. She turned and made her way back to the orphanage in the fading light. If nothing else, she learned that roaming after hours wasn't always fun and games. Sometimes stuff happened.
Lit by the blaze of the setting sun, a girl who was missed by no one made her way down the city streets at a steady but slow pace, heading to a house that was not a home.
