(Continued from: Haven's Bar: Burning at Haven's) darknessbitesrp.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=roleplay&thread=12&page=1Eden strode down one darkened street to another. She was wandering, re-living over and over again that night's events. It had been a good day. Those stupid vampires, she thought happily, so trusting. All she had to do was act all innocent and sweet and they listened to every word she said. Like taking candy from a baby. But where to go next? Maybe I'll pay a visit to the werewolf... he was by far the most fun toy she had played with. So emotional, so unsure. Easily maneuvered like a pawn in chess. Suddenly Eden stiffened. Out of the corner of her eye she caught a glimpse of a shadow further down the street. It was only there for an instant before it vanished. Eden hissed under her breath, she sniffed the air, there was something there...but she couldn't quite make it out. She listened intently but only heard the wind rustling through the streets and alleys. Wary, but not too concerned, she continued her stroll under the moonlight.

Daemon, ran through the somewhat empty streets of the district. Though still pitch black, he knew the sun would rise in a few hours and his hunger was now uncontrollable. Dressed in a black hoodie, he moved in plain sight, covering his head with the hood, to hide his fangs and keeping his head down in fear of scaring any possible human he might come across before he even got a chance to sink his teeth into them. He could faintly hear the sound of foot steops echoing off the concrete pavement. Doing his best to locate the presence he found himself in a dark alley peering at a girl who seemed to be around seventeen or eighteen. "She's pretty, wonder how good her blood will taste. Or how bad she'll scream" Daemon said, in a cute high pitched voice that seemed too innocent to say such dark things. He carefully ran into her and forced all of his weight on to her, using inhuman like speed to stick his hand in her pocket and rummage inside until he found something of worth and ran off into a dark street where the street lamps light couldn't reach. Baited, now to wait for the trap.

Eden caught again the glimpse of a shadowed figure, this time running toward her. Fast as lightning and before she could even react she felt him reach inside her coat pocket, snatch something, and then disappear. She spun around just in time to see the figure duck into a dark alleyway. Eden hissed angrily, but then smiled, they would pay for that cheap trick. She ran to the edge of the alley and stiffened, finally identifying the smell from earlier. Vampire. Eden felt her fangs slide out as the danger was realized. This was no mere human thief, this was risky. She giggled, this would be even more fun than she thought. She sprinted down the alley, eyes raking the shadows. There he was standing right in the middle, his form barely visible in the darkness. She spun out her leg, tripping him and then caught him in one hand. Holding him up by his jacket she slammed him into a wall. "Stupid of you to steal from me tonight, now you'll wish you were never born!" She grinned up at him.

Daemon waited for the girl to catch up with him. He hadn't expected her to be so brutally strong though as he was swept from his feet and in the same motion forced up against one of the two walls in the alley. He let out a slight oomf and he felt his fangs sink into his bottom lip. As he felt the warm crimson red blood flow down his lip and drop to the ground he laughed. He raised his head, showing the girl his face, fangs bared angrily. Without using much force, he pressed both of his feet on her stomach and kicked her away from him, tackling her and slamming her into the opposite wall, before twisting his body slightly and throwing her to the ground. Without pause, he followed up by using his vampire speed to climb on top of her and pin her down. He bit down on her neck, feeling the familiar puncturing of her vein. As the blood poured in, what should've tasted like sweet honey, closely rivaled acid. He back away from her, spitting the foul blood out. Taking a clear look at her, he realized why the young girl looked so beautiful before. She was a vampire.

The figure looked up at her then, fangs cutting into his lower lip. It was a boy, about 11 years old. She gasped as unwanted, the memories invaded her mind. Christopher. Christopher smiling, laughing, crying, dying. Christopher. She was frozen, the boy wasted no time, slamming her into the opposite wall and then to the cold ground. His fangs dug into her neck and her blood flowed, staining her coat. Feeling the warm blood spread, Eden snapped out of her trance for a moment as the boy spat disgustedly and shadows once again hid his face from view. She screeched, "You BIT me! I'll KILL you!" She kicked him off her and then sprang, knocking him to the ground. "I'll tear you into little pieces!" Leaning over him, she one again looked into those bright eyes and froze. Christopher, Christopher, Christopher. His name repeated a thousand times in her mind. She knew this boy wasn't him, and she shouldn't care even if it was her brother. She lived to kill, to make others suffer. Why couldn't she kill this boy, why did it matter to her so much? Tears filled her eyes as she gazed into his face.

Daemon was definitely out of his league on this one. He wondered why he couldn't tell she was a vampire sooner. He was a young vampire but that was still no excuse. He blamed his idiocy on his hunger. It seemed where he had only moments ago had the advantage, he was now being pinned down by the obviously more experienced vampire. But again, there was hesitation, she didn't swing. Worse yet, he saw tears forming in her eyes. Why was she about to cry? Not bothering to be the sweet hearted boy his appearance gave off, Daemon took the chance to knock her on her back and get a safe distance away so she couldn't easily reach him. "I'm sorry! I was hungry I need blood!" He yelled, though it ended up sounding more like a high pitched squeal.

Eden was knocked back and hit the ground hard. She looked up in time to see the boy leap away, his face full of fear. He yelled desperately to her. He was scared of her, she could tell by the way he kept edging away as if about to run. She saw her brother again, more clearly than ever. Scared, hurt, alone. Her mind calmed and the blood lust faded completely. She didn't want to kill someone for the first time in over a century. She closed her eyes tightly. "I'm sorry Christopher", she whispered, "I killed you, its my fault, but I can help this boy. Maybe I could make it right." She looked fully into the boy's face and said, "If you need blood, I can help you get it." She narrowed her eyes, "If you come with me though, you're going to have to keep up, understand?"

His hazel eyes darted everywhere, pinpointing his every possible escape route if she was still intent on killing him. He may have got her off guard once, but that wasn't a card he wanted to keep playing, it wasn't guaranteed it'd work a third time. Instead of being attacked, Daemon heard the girl talking to someone named christopher, but he couldn't tell feel any other presence and he was very adept at noticing things in the dark. Maybe she was insane, Daemon thought to himself, talking to herself like someone who spent their entire life in a psycho ward. Before long, she seemed to snap out of whatever she was doing and directed her attention to him. "You'd actually help me?". Though the hungry vampire wanted nothing more than to believe this stranger, he wasn't ready to completely trust her. He was nieve, not stupid. "Well then lead the way."

She smiled at him, her first genuine smile in a long time. "OK, follow me." She ducked out of the alley and sprinted down the dark streets, ducking from shadow to shadow. He followed cautiously, it seemed he didn't trust her. He's right not to, she thought, I can't believe I'm doing this. Finally she stopped and gestured to a nearby alley. "There's your food. A bunch of homeless humans live in there. No one will notice if one or two disappear. Try not to make a mess." It was so strange this feeling she had. She shook her head, trying to clear it. She couldn't afford to lose her edge, not now when the pieces were falling into place. She wouldn't let this boy ruin her plans. Although, maybe, if she kept her head and didn't let him affect her in that strange way, maybe he could be useful to her...

Daemon followed her. The moment he caught glimpse of the homeless, he didn't bother to hear what she had to say, he jumped to the top of a building and descended down upon his unsuspecting meal. The next few moments all blurred together. The only thing he could point out in his blood frenzy was frightened and pained shrieks, add with the warm gushing red fluid filling his mouth and staining his teeth. Dark red blood covered the alley walls and floor, making it look like the crime scene you'd witness from a mass serial killer. By the time he had finished, Daemon looked at his helper, with eyes that seemed demented rather than soft and child like. He smiled and gave her a glimpse of his blood stained teeth. What moments ago had looked like an eleven year old boy, now looked like something from the storybook of hell.

Eden stared down at the blood-soaked child. He smiled broadly at her, his teeth stained crimson. His eyes were wide and wild. He had killed the homeless man with complete abandon, like a starving animal. After a moment, she smiled back. He was like her, they were the same. Broken inside, that killer instinct taking over. They both could sweep aside the weak human facade that other vampires so foolishly tried to maintain a semblance of. She could definitely use this boy. "So much for not making a mess of things." She stepped closer to him and looked directly into his wild and bloodthirsty eyes. "What's your name? If you want, I could take you away from all this. I could make you strong." Almost the exact same words the shadowed man and spoken to her that distant, terrible night...

Daemon noticed her smiling anyway, something that slightly surprised him. She seemed so dangerous and now she seemed like any sweet caring girl. When she brought up the mess of blood he created, the vampire scratched the back of his head nervously. "Sorry, I'm relatively new to the whole vampire thing. I was hungry and I never had much control as an eleven year old anyway." He watched her closely as she approached him, wondering if she had found him blood just to kill him after he was satisfied and his hunger faded. Instead, she brought up talk of strength and helping him. What do I have to lose? the young vampire asked himself. All he was now was a fresh undead, still new to the ways of the dark world he was forcibly put into and constantly half starving. "My name is Daemon. I want to become stronger, to be able to survive."

Daemon. It was a good name. Eden smiled again and held out her hand, "I'm Eden, Eden Blackthorne. I think first we should teach you how to eat your food without getting it all over the place. Look how dirty your clothes are." A ghost of a laugh rose in her throat. "Come on, let's get you some clean clothing and then we'll figure out what to do with you. I'm sure there's a local store where we could find you some before daybreak." She turned and then stopped, looking back over her shoulder. "Oh, and Daemon," she flashed a grin, "try to keep up this time?"

"Eden..." Daemon repeated, getting a feel for her name. It sounded old fashioned. He wondered just how old his new mentor was. Though he was afraid to ask, she might've been undead, but he was sure she held that girl philosophy of getting upset over being asked their age. He was relieved to know he could get new clothes. The ones he had weren't in the best of conditions before they had gotten splattered in blood, having once belonged to a teenager with rather poor hygiene. I wonder if you have to worry about washing up in the afterlife. He walked right past her and already started walking to the nearest store he knew of. "Oh, you don't have to worry about me keeping up. But you should try not to get left behind."

Behind him, Eden smirked. He was falsely confident, like most new vampires. The speed, strength, immortality, and other superhuman changes gave people like him the illusion of limitless power. Unfortunately Daemon would soon learn, like the rest, that there were many dangers other than merely starving to death from lack of blood. However it made her happy to see someone so full of energy and spirit. Still, he should get a reality check. She snuck up behind him silently, then twirled and kicked his legs out from underneath him for the second time that night. Instantly she was on top of him, her fangs at his throat. "Just remember little vampire, you need to always be aware. Lesson 1, always know when others like you are around, you mistook me for a human earlier didn't you? That's why you bit me." She stood up then, pulling him to his feet with her. "We'll work on your sensory training first I think. Now this time, follow me." She took off into the darkness with a ghostly chuckle.
