OOC: for those who don't know, I'm going out of town until sunday and I won't be able to post until I get back. This is more or less to cover Miri while I'm gone. Miri is continuing from Nightcrest District: Sober Revelations: darknessbitesrp.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=district&action=display&thread=43&page=1Once she had reached the orphanage, it had almost been completely dark out. The higher ups were surprised to see her walk up the front door, and were only mildly surprised to see her injured. Of course, sneaking out and helping Shoku - she flinched a little, a twitch of a movement at the name - escape, had put her in massive trouble. She spent the next day in the infirmary getting stiches, bandages, wraps and the like (half of which she put on herself). Once she was finished there, she was allowed 5 minutes to gather her stuff, then was put in a room to contain her as punishment. It was for 2 weeks. She almost hit her head against the wall when she saw where she was being banished to- the same room Shoku had. She sighed and rolled her eyes. If this is karma- you're a bitch, Miri thought, dropping her bag on the floor. She had been planning on having her hands full with the orphanage kids so she wouldn't have to think. But being in solitary confinement more or less for 2 weeks left her with a LOT of free time. She sat on the gorund with her arms on her knees, and leaned her head against the wall. And so it begins...

OOC: back from out of town, but still a bit confused as to what I missed...
Miri was going stir crazy in her small room. She could only imagine how erhm... a werewolf would feel in here. Damn that boy, she cursed. With not much else to do, she had spent her time working out however best she could in here, and cursing Shoku. She wasn't actually as pissed off at him as her thoughts made her seem, but it made the time pass and gave her something to do. And after being in solitary confinement for the better part of a week, she needed all the things she could do.
She somewhat lost track of the days, but the fact that she had not even been in here a week was maddening. Even more so, though, was the fact she had 3 weeks left in the orphanage when she entered this room. Now she had little more than 2, and most of it they planned on keeping her cooped up in here. Damn if I stay here, she thought, punching the wall. Her knuckles were slightly calloused (and very bruised) from all the punching she had done.
Miri would rather live on the streets then be confined- she just had to get out there. She decided she would escape that evening- no tricks, no being subtle- just escape. And thats what she did when she went to go to the bathroom. She said she forgot something in her room (she was almost always with an escort of another orphan or adult these days), and went back to get her backpack - something that she obtained long ago - which had a little cash which she may or may not have stolen, a bottle of water and a tank top in as well. Of course her makeshift lockpick was in a side pocket, as was a small steel blade. She wanted to laugh- she got more by prowling the streets at night then the orphanage gave her in the entirety of her stay here. And that is why I'm leaving, she thought, throwing her jacket on and sprinting out the door.
The young teen orphan - her current jailer - yelled as Miri exploded past her, full speed down the hall to the stairs. She ran up to the empty bathroom on the 4th floor, out the window and onto the roof, the guy behind her watching open-mouthed as she escaped. She bent over the edge of the room and stuck her head back in. "Good luck kid- you'll need it more then I will." And then off she went, sprinting across the rooftops, leaping and climbing through the cityscape as the sun faded, enjoying the freedom she finally had.
